Tom is the Founder and CEO of Cherokee Construction. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Tom graduated from Temple University and subsequently created Cherokee Construction in 1976.
Tom’s love of building, construction, and architecture, combined with over thirty-five years of experience, has made him keenly aware of the dynamics and skill level needed to create the finest high-end residential homes.
Tom takes pride in Cherokee Construction’s renowned reputation for excellent workmanship and well managed construction projects.  The company’s reputation and unique strength can be attributed to Tom’s commitment to employing only the highest skilled in-house carpenters and craftsmen.
Cherokee’s projects include historic restorations, large and small-scale residential renovations, new home construction, tenant fit-outs, and commercial construction.


barry Barry Bragin, Senior Vice President, Project Management/Estimating
Joined Cherokee Construction in 1978.
Barry began his career as a carpenter in the early 1970’s starting his own general contracting firm. In 1978 he joined Cherokee. With over four decades of construction experience, Barry possesses an unrivaled expertise and depth of knowledge.
Barry’s responsibilities include providing cost analysis throughout the duration of a project. His hands-on duties commence at the initial proposal phase, continue throughout the construction stages via job-site meetings with architects and clients, and conclude at the time of completion of each project. Most importantly, Barry tracks projects and assures that there are consistent open lines of communication between the client, the architect, and the project manager.


billBill Tesno, Vice President, Construction Coordination
Joined Cherokee Construction in 1986.
A graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Sciences in Secondary Education, Bill joined Cherokee in 1986 as a Project Manager, eventually working his way up to Vice President of Construction. Prior to joining Cherokee, Bill worked as a carpenter and then as a project manager, building commercial shopping centers.
Bill’s responsibilities include overseeing the day to day workings of all projects currently under construction. He creates a master schedule for each project helping to keep the project managers, subcontractors, and our team of highly skilled carpenters on task and on schedule. His skill of troubleshooting issues on the spot, combined with his ability to effectively communicate with clients and subcontractors creates a cohesive and highly productive work environment for everyone involved.


joostJoost Langeveld, RA, Vice President, Project Management/Estimating
Joined Cherokee Construction in 2005.
After graduating cum laude from Philadelphia University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Joost spent the first few years of his career as an architect focusing on design, construction documentation, and consultant coordination for commercial and institutional clients. He is a registered architect in the state of Pennsylvania.
Joost’s responsibilities include providing cost analysis throughout the duration of a project. His hands-on duties commence at the initial proposal phase, continue throughout the construction stages via job-site meetings with architects and clients, and conclude at the time of completion of each project. Most importantly, Joost tracks projects and assures that there are consistent open lines of communication among the client, the architect, and the project manager.

 

Project Superintendents
All of our project superintendents are master carpenters with knowledge and experience in all facets of construction. When a superintendent is assigned to your project they are with you until completion.

 

Carpenters
We maintain a staff of full-time master carpenters, a practice that has made Cherokee Construction unique and sets us apart from other builders.

 

Service Department
Our service department is available to provide continuing construction and maintenance services, after your initial project is complete.
